Dr. Bauer has been practicing minimally invasive surgery for the past 12 years and joined The Surgery Group in 2020. Her particular areas of interest include laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures for obesity, laparoscopic treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease, laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair, laparoscopic colon resection, and other laparoscopic gastrointestinal procedures. In addition, she participates in trauma coverage at Baptist Hospital.
Dr. Bauer has a passion for weight management and bariatric surgery. She finds a special excitement in the new lease on life that patients get when they begin their weight loss journey.
Dr. Bauer began her medical career in the US Navy and is honored to care for the active duty, retired and dependent population. She is also a strong ally of the LGBTQ community and strives to provide them with competent, compassionate care.
Memberships in professional and scientific societies include the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
As a recent transplant from Colorado, Dr. Bauer is excited to enjoy the Sunshine State. She and her two teens look forward to biking on the beach, eating tons of seafood, and splashing in the pool.
