Dr. Jada Leahy is a board-certified General Surgeon, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Originally from Athens, Tennessee, Dr. Leahy attended high school here locally at Pine Forest. After completing undergraduate studies in Neurobiological Sciences at the University of Florida, she attended Florida State Medical School including her last two years of clinical studies, here at the Pensacola Campus. She is a Navy Veteran and served as the General Surgeon aboard CVN 77 George H W Bush prior to being stationed at Naval Hospital Pensacola. During her Naval career, she attended the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute Patient Safety Leadership Academy, served as the Executive Committee Chair for Naval Hospital Pensacola and participated as the physician escort for the Joint Commission Accreditation. After almost 10 years of military service, Dr. Leahy chose to continue her surgical career in Pensacola area. She remains active in medical education as a faculty member at Florida State College of Medicine. She enjoys performing the full spectrum of general surgery including treatment of skin cancer, benign and malignant breast disease, endocrine disorders, gallbladder disease, intestinal and colorectal disorders including colorectal cancer, hemorrhoids, and all types of abdominal and inguinal hernias. Dr. Leahy has a special interest in minimally invasive techniques for colon and rectal surgery as well as breast surgery. She is committed to providing high quality, patient-centered surgical care personalized to the needs of each individual patient. She is active in the local Escambia County Medical Society and understands the dynamic and unique needs of the Panhandle patient population. She enjoys spending off time with her husband and young children and is frequently seen participating in local races/5k’s as well as women’s health events such as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
