Specialties: Dr. Tyson practices the entire realm of general surgery (“the skin and its contents”) with special interests in the areas of minimally invasive surgery and complex laparoscopic procedures, including but not limited to: colon resection, reflux procedures (Nissen), adrenal resection, splenectomy, cholecystectomy and hernia repair (both groin and abdominal wall). He’s very well-trained in and experienced with oncologic (cancer) surgery, including: breast, melanoma, esophageal, colon and thoracic (lung) surgeries. In addition, Dr. Tyson is an experienced and busy endoscopist performing both colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD – endoscopic evaluation of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum).

Dr. Tyson joined The Surgery Group in 2000. He was born and raised in Wallingford, PA .

Dr. Tyson is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and has recently successfully passed his recertification exam  Dr. Tyson is very active in the community and frequently is involved in theater at Pensacola Little Theater or Pensacola State College. Dr. Tyson is so thankful to live in such a beautiful locale and thoroughly enjoys our gorgeous beaches and waters. He is an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction, particularly history. Dr. Tyson considers it a privilege and an honor to care for you.
